This article by Sirdar Kapur Singh was first published in 1959 in SGPC's monthly journal "Gurmat Parkash" in response to an earlier article by Prof. Ramprakash Singh (Khalsa College, Amritsar). In his article, Prof Ramprakash Singh had claimed that the reference of Noop Kuer (Anup Kaur) in Charitropakhyan was based on a real life incident that happened with Guru Gobind Singh Sahib. Sirdar Kapur Singh rebutted that claim based on the contention that the reference of Noop Kuer narrated by Guru Sahib in Charitropakhyan was a folklore and had no historic significance. This article by Sirdar Sahib was again published in 1993 and we are pleased to present this to our readers, as the first in the series of articles, which will help understand the significance of Charitropakhyan. - Admin

WJKK WJKF,
This is really a wonderful article and a real eye opener ,because people like me who are
ignorant and not farsighted would take it otherwise. We really have to broaden our
convas to understand writings of Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj.
Let Guru enlighten all the Singh's.

It would be good if you could put this article 'Kissa Roop Koer Da' by Sirdar Kapur Singh on a website like Scribd. It would make it more available. More sangat would be able to read it.

So will this file be put on other websites such as scribd or books.google? Are we allowed to freely distribute or put this on other sources ourselves?

ADMIN NOTE:
Yes, we have plans of putting all the articles including this on other websites, particularly Scribd.
In the meantime you are free to make copies and distribute it where you wish.

I have studied Dasam Granth from my ustad Giani Sher Singh Ji Nihang Singh Ambala. He told me lot of such stuff about writings of Dasam Granth.
But this article is one which i have been looking for so long. We need to understand what these writings mean rather than rejecting them on basis of our own thinking.
Great Works of Great guru can only be understood by his own Kirpa.
And our panthc shaheeds like Shaheed Bhai Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale has himself said that Dasam Granth is work of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji; and I would rather believe in the words of a Shaheed rather than some so called scholar like Kala Afghana
